Summerfun has been a part of the East Richmond Community for over 15 years. Quality childcare at a reasonable cost is what our program is well known for. Our program runs for four (4) weeks in the month of July – from Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm. We offer children a variety of games and activities at our facility as well as two “out trips” per week to locations such as SplashDown, Playland, the Zoo, swimming and even an overnight camping adventure!

Registration opens May 1st

Campers are accepted in two categories:

  • Summer Fun Juniors = children entering grades 1-4 (in September 2011)
  • Summer Fun Seniors = children entering grades 5-7 (in September 2011)

Program cost

$110 per week or $400 for four weeks

Our programs run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Can I drop my child off early or pick them up late?
Our staff are paid to care for your children at Summerfun from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Our facility doors will not be opened until this time and we cannot take responsibility for children dropped off early or picked up late.

Can my child bring electronics to camp?
We do not allow hand held devices at our camps. They take away from a child’s experience at our programs and are often expensive pieces of technology. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Does my child need to pack a lunch?
Yes, you are responsible for providing adequate snacks and lunches for your child. We recommend a morning snack, an afternoon snack and a good size lunch as we keep our kids very active throughout the day and they tend to get very hungry!

Who supervises the children?
We hire university and senior secondary school students to coordinate our programs. They are outstanding individuals with a love for working with children, exceptional leadership and problem solving skills, and are truly quality people. We also have university and high school students who volunteer at our programs. We guarantee a 6:1 child to adult ratio for safety and supervision.

How do the children get to the field trips?
We use certified 15 passenger vans driven by licensed class 4 drivers, take public transit and walk to field trip destinations in the Greater Vancouver area.

Can I get a tax receipt?
Yes, receipts are issued at the time of registration and can be picked up in person or mailed at the end of the summer. This receipt can be used on your tax return as childcare.

Are there subsidies available?
